(Swaad) 38 : 86
قُلْ مَا أَسْأَلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ وَمَا أَنَا مِنَ الْمُتَكَلِّفِينَ
I do not ask any reward for this, and I am not among those who tell vainglory.
Any Messenger, Prophet, or believer including Messenger Muhammed has not received any worldly reward from anyone for conveying the Lord’s Message. Through this verse, the Messenger and thereby the believer is commanded to declare his people: “I do not ask you any reward for conveying the Message of Allah to you, and also I am not among the vainglorious who do not do what tell or tell what do not do”. See explanation 2: 174-175; 11: 88; 25: 57, and 61: 2-3.
